Well it's been a while since I've updated the blog. Since the Hurricane, we have been quite busy! First Jon and I went to Las Vegas with a few friends. Just a little trip to "get away". Had fun. Lost some. Then we came back and had Donny's birthday. Aunt Jenni flew in to visit so we took Donny to Laser tag. That was fun. No pictures though. That same night was Amy's homecoming. So she wasn't able to go with us. She enjoyed the dance as always. Then it was off to Phoenix for our Susan G. Komen walk for the cure. That was a blast! There were about 12 of us that walked for the cure. Our team was the "Boo Bees". Was a catchy name huh. Anyway, we had a boo bee party. It was really a surprise birthday party for Amy. She had NO idea. It was great. She was able to celebrate her birthday with family that doesn't live in Houston anymore which was cool. When we came back from Phoenix, it was time to get ready for Amy's real Sweet Sixteen party. She wanted a costume party. So all her friends showed up dresses in their best or worst costume. Then half of them stayed the nite at the house. I told her that I think I'm done with parties! She agreed! YIPPEE!!!!! Anyway, with all that above, we still had football games and Donny's band performances. Which I have missed because of all things going on. But we won't miss anymore band performances. So there is my hectic life of Sept. and Oct. Hope all is well with everyone and talk to you all soon.
Love ya,

Hurricane Ike
Well we all made it through the storm ok. Had some tree issues, missing shingles. Loss of power but we were one of the lucky ones and got our power back on on Sunday morning. We did have a generator so we watched the storm all night and into the morning. I remember Alicia coming through back in the 80's but of course I was younger so I don't know how this storm compares. And all we could do was play in the water. I can say that I have never witnessed the kind of destruction like this before. There were many trees, powerlines and fences laying around our neighborhood. Some flooding within Tomball but since I didn't make it into Tomball, I'm not sure to what extent. Here are some pics of our "minor" damage.

End of Summer
Just a few pictures from the last month of Summer. Nothing to exciting. Amy and I went to Austin to visit my cousin and her family and my Grandmother. We had a good time. Love seeing them and the kids. They are so cute. Also, Donny and I went to another Astros game. It was the retiring of Biggio's jersey. So sad! Anyway, school is starting and the kids are happy. I know, that sounds weird.
Love you all,
Deana

Pennsylvania Trip
The kids and I went to PA for vacation this year. Of course it's really not a vacation for Amy anymore. She gets bored at the cabin. Not to much to do. Donny loves it because it is a cabin. Hiking, cutting trees for firewood, the "creek" and lots of Ice Cream! We were able to visit with family and relax. I was finally able to meet my niece's little one Kylie and while we were there, my nephew Jeff and his wife Jenna welcomed their first little girl, Josslyn Rose. They are both sooooo adorable. Anyway, glad I was able to see everyone. Hope you enjoy the pics from our trip to Pennsylvania.

Jon and I had our 16th anniversary this past week. For something different than just going to the casino, as we usually do, we choose to go to a baseball game. In St. Louis, MO. It of course had to be the Astros. It was a great time. The weather was perfect. For the game anyway. Then it got cold. I got some authographs and pics taken with players. The seats were awesome! I'm a bit spoiled now, don't want to sit anywhere else but where we sat. Comparable to Minute Maid anyway. Here are some pics of our weekend. Hope you enjoy them. We sure enjoyed the weekend.

March Happenings
Hello everyone. Just a quick blog to share some of the happenings in March. Donny started baseball. He is on the Red's this year. Pretty good team we have. He's doing great. Today's game was a loss but if there was a MVP, it would be Donny. Not that I'm gloating. Also, we went to my nephew Jeremy's birthday. They are all growing so fast. Amy had some more art in the Spring Art Show at the high school. She is so talented. And she really enjoys art! Wish I had a picture of the "man" she created with TAPE! It was a biology project and she used Donny as the model. It was awesome too. Her teacher actually is keeping it. Anyway, hope you enjoy the pictures.

Just a quick blog to show you all Amy's new do. The first picture is before the cut. She was determined to have this haircut. 9" later here it is. Actually was 1 inch from being able to donate her hair. It was quite a shock at first, but it's really cute. We have since colored it Auburn brown. Also a picture or two of Donny's honor band performance. He was picked out of several schools around our area.

Surprise Trip to Utah, Idaho and Wyoming

This is my first attempt at this Blog stuff. I only have this picture as of now. Once I get all acquainted with this blog, I'll put more pics up.
We went to SLC to Jenni and Brian's and then to Idaho to suprise Michelle and Penny for her babyshower. It was a great time. Really cold! Then off to Wyoming to visit with Penny and Jay. I also got to see a friend that lives in Wyoming. After a night in Wyoming, it was back to SLC to get ready to head back home. I was ready to be home with my family.
Thank you to all for making this trip enjoyable! Hope to be able to post lots of pics through the year of family and friends. Especially in Oct. Amy will be turning 16. Can you believe it? I can't.
Anyway, Love to all.
